Record Demos of Location-Based Android Apps

Prepare a repeatable location route for product demos, support videos and internal training without travelling between scenes.

A saved set of demo points can make a product walkthrough predictable, but the recording should identify simulated data when viewers could mistake it for a live location.

Prepare the demo

  • Use synthetic accounts and non-sensitive addresses.
  • Choose short routes with obvious visual milestones.
  • Preload maps and verify network access.
  • Remove notifications and private information from the device.

Run a clean take

  • Start from a known saved location.
  • Use a moderate speed that keeps UI transitions readable.
  • Pause between important states when the product allows it.
  • Stop FlashGo and restore real GPS after recording.

Label simulated footage

If the demo could be interpreted as a real trip, live delivery or real person location, clearly label it as simulated. Do not use mock location to fabricate evidence or mislead viewers.

Common questions

Can I use a mock route for a support video?

Yes, when you are authorized to demonstrate the app and the simulated nature is clear where relevant.

Why does the recording differ between takes?

Network responses, server data, map loading and background scheduling may vary even when the coordinates repeat.

Use responsiblyReceiving apps can detect or reject mocked locations. Follow applicable laws and third-party terms; do not use FlashGo to mislead others or bypass restrictions.
