Test Android Location Permission Flows

Test precise, approximate, foreground, background and denied location states without confusing permission problems with mock GPS setup.

Mock coordinates are useful only after the test app has the permissions required for the scenario. Separate permission-state testing from route testing so failures are easier to diagnose.

Create a permission matrix

  • Never asked.
  • Allowed only while using the app.
  • Approximate location allowed.
  • Precise location allowed.
  • Background access allowed or denied where applicable.

Run each state cleanly

  • Reset the app permission before each case.
  • Open the app and follow the expected prompt path.
  • Start a known FlashGo point only after the permission decision.
  • Verify the UI, analytics event and recovery path.

Avoid false conclusions

If a map stays blank, confirm network and map loading separately. If the blue dot is missing, check permission and location services before changing the mock provider.

Common questions

Does selecting FlashGo grant location permission to another app?

No. Every receiving app still needs its own Android location permission.

Can approximate permission hide the exact mock point?

Yes. Android may provide a coarser location when the user grants only approximate access.

Use responsiblyReceiving apps can detect or reject mocked locations. Follow applicable laws and third-party terms; do not use FlashGo to mislead others or bypass restrictions.
