Location UI often breaks at dense downtown coordinates, map edges, long labels and places with no nearby results. Saved test points make these states repeatable.
Build a compact location matrix
- Dense city centre for marker clustering.
- Suburban point for medium result density.
- Remote point for empty and offline states.
- A point near a date line or hemisphere boundary when relevant.
What to inspect
- Camera centring and zoom level.
- Selected-marker and bottom-sheet state.
- Cluster expansion and overlapping labels.
- Loading, permission-denied and no-results messages.
Make the test reproducible
Save the exact coordinates, zoom, account state, locale and expected result count with the test. Mock GPS controls only the device location; map data and nearby results may still depend on network or account settings.
Common questions
Can mock location change the map data itself?
No. It changes the location input; map tiles and search results still come from their own services.
Why do two accounts see different nearby results?
The service may use account history, experiments, language, IP region or server-side ranking in addition to GPS.
Use responsiblyReceiving apps can detect or reject mocked locations. Follow applicable laws and third-party terms; do not use FlashGo to mislead others or bypass restrictions.
