Mock Location App Missing or Greyed Out

Fix an empty, missing or disabled Select mock location app menu on Android.

A missing picker usually means Developer Options is not fully enabled, the app is installed in another profile or the device is managed.

Use responsiblyFlashGo includes developer testing among its stated uses. Receiving apps can detect or reject mocked locations; follow applicable laws and third-party terms.

Check the basics

  • Confirm FlashGo is installed from Google Play.
  • Open it once so Android finishes package setup.
  • Enable Developer Options for the current user.
  • Close and reopen the Settings app.

Check profiles and policy

Work profiles, secondary users and parental or enterprise management can separate installed apps from developer settings. Install and select the provider in the same profile, and respect any administrator restriction.

Do not chase old settings

Older Android tutorials mention “Allow mock locations.” Current versions typically use “Select mock location app.” Use the picker rather than looking for a legacy checkbox.

Common questions

Why is the list empty?

No compatible app may be installed in the active profile, or Settings has not refreshed after installation.

Can I bypass a greyed-out setting?

Do not bypass device-management policy. Use an authorized test device or ask the administrator.
